RRA Rainwater Harvesting Project (Status: Application Closed)
RRA has initiated a rainwater harvesting project in FY2023/2024 for a value of Rs 9,750,000 based on the following criteria:
• Open to all households with income not exceeding Rs 60,000 per month and who have no water storage capacity of more than 6 m3.
• Resident of Rodrigues.
• Residential building completed.
• Not a beneficiary of previous rainwater harvesting schemes.
• Priority will be given to low-income households and those having no water tanks or water tanks with capacity less than 6 m3.
RPUC will be the implementing agency of this project. RPUC has recruited three (3) project supervisors to carry out the technical surveys and inspections of eligible applicants who have met the above criteria of RRA.
RPUC floated quotations to five (5) specialist prefabricated water tank manufacturers and after bid evaluation the contract for manufacture and supply of 400 water tanks in polyethylene has been awarded to Standard Solar Engineering System Ltd for a contract value of Rs 9,735,582.00 + VAT.
The first tanks have arrived in Rodrigues and were handed over to the first eligible applicants on Friday 8 September 2023.
We have so far handed over 4 batches of tanks to 166 beneficiaries.


The 5150L prefabricated tanks require a flat surface in order to prevent punctures. Below is the first
