Following comments on social media on Anse Raffin Dam, RPUC would like to issue this communique for the information of the Rodriguans.
RPUC/RRA awarded a contract to remove 17,000 m3 of silted materials from Anse Raffin Dam when it was completely dry in November/December 2023.
Recent rainfall has filled the DAm to its maximum capacity of about 70,000 m3
The water treatment plant at Anse Raffin Dam has not been operational and was decommissioned prior to 2022. RRA vested the two water treatment plants to RPUC which connected to Anse Raffin to receive and treat water from Anse Raffin Dam at the total rate of 350 m3/day.
From 28 April 2024, 2565 m3 of water has been treated and blended with the desalinated water from Songes for distribution in the southern and western regions of Rodrigues.
The RPUC is now investigating additional water treatment facilities for Anse Raffin Dam.
